Group 1 – Hera and Zumalai

Unfortunately there has been limited internet access for the laptops. So many amazing things have happened over the last 5 days – below is a list with some photos of just a few experiences that we’ve had.

  • Visited Santa Cruz Cemetery – site of massacre in 1999.

  • Tais Market – traditional woven garments and accessories.

  • Celebrated Max’s Birthday – the primary students at the Dominican school sang happy birthday.

  • The boys finally washed some clothes for the first time in their lives (by hand!)

  • Flew to Suai – transit to Zumalai.

  • Declan and Harry taught English to Years 7, 8 & 9.

  • Ran two Days for Girls sessions – well received at both locations.

  • Ronan, Max and Hugh took part in a 6 hour procession/mass for Saint John Paul II – in the pouring rain! It was a very special experience to witness and be a part of the lived out faith in Timor.
